We are looking for an experienced Financial Accountant with a good work ethic to join our team in Alice Springs. This is a full-time, short term contract position with an immediate start date available. At this stage, it is envisioned the contract will be for 4 months, however, there is a possibility of an extension after this time, if required.

Your key responsibility during this time will be to provide assistance to the CFO and finance team in the management of the organisation's accounting systems, financial reporting, management of cash resources and payroll.

On a day-to-day basis this will include, but not be limited to:

  • Assisting with year-end preparation for Audit;
  • Assisting with Payroll functions if required including checking pays before processing;
  • Ensuring other accountability and reporting requirements are met for all funding and statutory bodies;
  • Preparing the annual budget for the organisation and for each of the separately accountable programs;
  • Preparing annual FBT return for the organisation by the due date and ensuring it is paid when due; and
  • Providing and analysing monthly and quarterly Income and Expenditure and Balance Sheet reports for the CFO, Health Services Manager, Programme Managers and Board.

About You

This is a busy time at Nganampa, so we are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and pick up new systems and processes quickly. 

To be considered, you will hold appropriate tertiary qualifications with considerable experience gained in a similar capacity as a Financial Accountant. Candidates who hold a CA or CPA will be highly regarded, however this is not a mandatory requirement of this role.

Advanced Excel skills will be a must, as well as solid experience using cloud based accounting systems (ie Xero) and any experience either running or managing payroll will be a plus.

Importantly, we are looking for someone who can demonstrate maturity, strong attention to detail and the ability to work flexibly in an ever changing environment.
